At least eight members of Hezbollah guerrillas were killed yesterday in a drone strike in Syria, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

“An unidentified drone hit a Hezbollah position near the town of Sukhna in the eastern desert of Homs province killing eight fighters and injuring more than 20,” Rami Abdulrahman, director of the observatory, told AFP.

Media sources close to the party reported that indicators point towards the Israeli army because of similar attacks in the past.

The operation comes only two days after the party received a major setback in Homs where it lost many fighters during battles against Daesh on Friday.

Sources close to the party said more than ten fighters were killed during fierce fighting in Homs over the past days.
