Hamas said yesterday that “real partnership” is the only basis that guarantees the success of the Palestinian reconciliation, the Anadolu Agency reported.

During a meeting held by the Independent Committee for Human Rights in Gaza,  Hamas member Khalil Al-Hayya said: “If we want the Palestinians to see a real reconciliation in Gaza and the West Bank, it must be based on partnership.”

“Everyone must take part in the reconciliation. No one must be ruled out because Palestine is for all of us.”

Al-Hayya stressed that Hamas is “more serious” about the reconciliation than at any time in the past, adding that the Palestinian parties must agree on a fixed timetable to implement the reconciliation.

Senior Islamic Jihad member, Khalid Al-Batsh, also stressed the importance of the Palestinian factions’ agreement on a fixed timetable to implement the reconciliation “in order to return normal life to the Palestinians in Gaza and end their suffering immediately.”

All Palestinian factions are slated to meet in Cairo on Tuesday to resume reconciliation talks.

Hamas and Fatah reached a reconciliation deal on 14 October which came after Hamas dissolved it’s government in the besieged Gaza Strip.
