Joint Palestine-Israel delegation to visit China

December 19, 2017 at 1:02 pm

China has invited Palestinian and Israelis teams to meet in Beijing with the deputy Chinese foreign minister this weekend, Israeli newspaper Haaretz has reported.

Palestinian official Nabil Shaath, senior aide of the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, was invited along with the former minister Ahmed Majdalani and a number of other officials.

The Israeli team will be headed by Zionist Union Member of the Knesset Hilik Bar.

Both teams are expected to hold a press conference to announce the positions of their countries regarding the conflict.

Last week, several Chinese companies cancelled delegations to Israel following US President Donald Trump’s announcement recognising Jerusalem as its capital, according to Haaretz.
