Israel today extended the detention of 16-year-old Palestinian Ahed Tamimi for ten days.

Tamimi appeared in court at the Ofer military base near the occupied West Bank city of Ramallah.

The teen was arrested after video footage circulated of her and her 21-year-old cousin, Nour Naji Tamimi, forcing Israeli occupation forces off their family’s home in their West Bank village of Nabi Saleh.

The footage was taken on 15 December but Ahed was arrested from her home in a dawn raid yesterday. Nour was also arrested.

The family’s electronic equipment including mobile phones and laptops were also seized.

Ahed’s mother, Nariman, was later arrested as she went to inquire about the whereabouts of her daughter.
