The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) has criticised the final statement of the Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) Central Committee, which met on Sunday and Monday to discuss the dangers facing the Palestinian cause, Shehab.ps reported Tuesday.

The PFLP said that the statement should have included “clear” responses to the ongoing “negative developments” related to the Palestinian cause.

The PFLP stressed that the statement underlined how the Palestinian leadership “is standing standstill” amidst the dangers facing their people.

According to Shehab.ps, PFLP said the ongoing dangers needed “decisive” decisions such as retracting recognition of Israel, not suspending relations, cancelling Oslo Accords, not cancelling years of transitional period, ending punitive measures against Gaza and disowning the Arab Peace Initiative.

The PFLP said that the Central Council rejected its proposals, as well as proposals offered by other factions and rejected calls to convene the Palestinian National Council in the near future in order to discuss national reconciliation developments.

“All of these reasons pushed us to reject the statement of the Central Council and continue exerting efforts with other national factions and personalities to correct the official Palestinian policy and take it out of the context of the Oslo Accords,” the PFLP said in its statement.

It also called for accelerated national reconciliation and achieving Palestinian unity in order to be able to establish a united Palestinian policy which is able to encounter the ongoing, significant dangers.
