Chief of the Palestinian Authority (PA) Intelligence Services Majed Faraj has held secret meetings with senior Saudi officials in relation to the so-called American ‘deal of the century’, AlKhaleejonline.com revealed Sunday.

Despite the difference between the PA and Saudi Arabia, AlKhaleejonline.com said, Riyadh insists on playing a role by organising secret meetings between Palestinian and Saudi officials.

Faraj, one of the prominent PA officials who could likely succeed PA President Mahmoud Abbas, was secretly invited to hold meetings with senior Saudi officials in Riyadh last week, away from the media.

Reporting a senior Fatah and PLO official, who preferred to remain anonymous, AlKhaleejonline.com said that Faraj remained three days in Saudi Arabia, noting that his visit was directed by King Salman and the Crown Prince Mohamed bin Salman.

PLO: Saudi Crown Prince conveyed US ‘deal of the century’ to us

The Fatah source said that the secret meetings discussed the important issues related to the Palestinian cause, including the US ‘deal of the century’.

Abbas has already rejected this deal, calling it the “slap of the century” and announcing the end of the US role in the Israeli-Palestinian peace process.
