On Wednesday, Tunisian parliament approved a loan agreement that would allow Tunisia to get 52.7 million Euros ($60 million) from the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) for the implementation of the Mobaderoon project that is aimed at integrating young people in several interior areas.

Local Tunisian radio station, Shems FM, which reported the news, explained that “Tunisia will repay the loan over a period of 30 years with a grace period of six years and a variable interest rate (currently 0.67 per cent).”

According to the same source, “the funds will be allocated to provide a set of services that are specifically directed towards job seekers belonging to vulnerable groups, between the ages of 18 and 35, and to support enterprises.”

The agreement was ratified during a plenary session chaired by the First Vice President of the Tunisian Assembly of the Representatives, Abdelfattah Mourou.

The project will benefit around 10,000 young people from the governorates of Manouba, Jendouba, Siliana, Kasserine, Kairouan, Kebili and Sfax. It will also provide support to about 250 large, medium and small enterprises.
