The Israeli army has expanded its search operation for former soldier Nadav Hyman who has been missing since Friday, Israeli media reported.

Channel 12 said the army is continuing its extensive operations to search for Hyman; a former soldier of the Matcal battle unit; one of the most advanced units in the army.

This is the second time that Hyman has gone missing.

Seven years ago, Hyman, 21 at the time, disappeared from his army training camp, prompting a nationwide search for him that ended when he reappeared outside his parents’ home. The incident led to him being expelled from the unit.

Now, seven years later, Hyman disappeared again after leaving his family house on Friday for a hike without taking his phone or any money. His family has appealed to the public for help.
