The Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has announced that it has provided financial assistance to a care home for disabled people and the Deportivo Palestino Football Club in Chile. Both organisations were founded by Palestinians in the diaspora.
A statement by TIKA revealed that it has financed two football pitches for Deportivo Palestino, which was founded in 1920 and plays in Chile’s First Division. Turkey’s Ambassador in Chile, Gülin Dinç, said that she hopes that the club achieves “positive results” in international competitions.
Rahman Nurdun, TIKA’s Coordinator for Latin America, said recently that the Turkish people are always keen on assisting and supporting Palestinians around the world.
The TIKA delegation has also inaugurated a care home for the disabled, which was renovated by the Turkish aid agency.

In a speech during the opening ceremony, the Palestinian Ambassador in Santiago, Imad Nabil Jada’a, stressed that the restoration project was carried out on the basis of the friendship between the Turkish and Palestinian people. “On behalf of all the Palestinian people,” said the Ambassador, “I thank TIKA for its efforts and assistance.”
