Arab MK calls on West Bank Palestinians not to leave Gazans alone

April 9, 2018 at 11:07 am

Israeli-Arab MK Hanin Zoabi yesterday called on Palestinians in the occupied West Bank to organise anti-Israeli demonstrations and not to leave Gazans alone, Shehab.ps reported.

“We need to organise popular demonstrations to remind the world of the siege,” she said. “We need millions of Palestinians to advance towards Jerusalem. This is our [Arabs in Israel] ambition, but we cannot do this because the Israelis will kill us.”

She stressed that Israel has become a “racist” and “fascist” state and called for carrying out an investigation into the killing of Palestinian demonstrators on the borders of Gaza.

“Israel is not defending itself as it claims,” she said, “the occupation and imposing a siege is not self-defence, it is an act of terror.”

Zoabi reiterated that the demonstrations on the eastern borders of Gaza are “peaceful” and this is the only way to unite the Palestinians and lead to the end of the Israeli occupation.

Palestinians launched mass protests on Land Day on 30 March which are expected to continue until Nakba Day on 15 May to mark 70 years since nearly one million Palestinians were forced out of their homes ready for the creation of the state of Israel.

Some 32 Palestinians have been killed since 30 March when the Right of Return March was launch. A further 2,850 were injured. Amongst those killed was Yaser Murtaja a Palestinian journalist who was wearing a blue flak jacket clearly marked with the word “PRESS” when he was targeted.
