Sudan: New ministers sworn in

The newly appointed Sudanese Ministers of Interior, Justice, Youth and Sports and the Minister of State in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning took constitutional oaths before President Omar Al-Bashir in Khartoum yesterday.

The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister, Bakri Hasan Saleh, Chief Justice, Maulana Haider Ahmed Dafalla, and Minister of the Presidency of the Republic, Fadel Abdullah Fadel.

The Ministers stressed in press statements that they will work according to an integrated system to achieve national reconciliation and the Sudanese people’s aspirations.

The newly appointed Minister of Interior, Ibrahim Mahmoud Hamid, said that his ministry will work to achieve security and stability, calling on the Sudanese people to join efforts to overcome the targeting of Sudan.

He also praised the steadfastness of the Sudanese people during the economic siege, adding that the challenges facing Sudan are regional and global.

For his part, Minister of Justice Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Salim explained that he will seek to promote the legal performance of the state and improve the human rights situation in the country.
