Israel Police yesterday set up a watchtower on top of the Bab Al-Rahma gate to Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem.

Israeli policemen were seen in the early morning patrolling the new watchtower and destroying Bab Al-Rahma hill, adjacent to the Bab Al-Rahma cemetery. The area had been renovated by Muslim worshippers during the holy month of Ramadan which came to an end on Friday.

The area has long come under attack by Israeli occupation forces with officers of Israel’s Nature And Parks Authority (INPA) digging up Palestinian graves in the cemetery to ready for plans to build “a national [Israeli] park on parts of the cemetery’s land”.
