Iraqi Prime Minister Haidar Al-Abadi demanded the “terrorist” Kurdish group the PKK be disarmed, the Anadolu Agency reported.
Speaking during his weekly press conference following the cabinet meeting yesterday, Al-Abadi said his government calls for the disarmament of all militant groups in the country, including the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).
He also said that the Iraqi cabinet council discussed during its meeting securing the borders in the Iraqi-Turkish-Iranian triangle.
The EU, the US and Turkey all class the PKK as a terrorist organisation.
