The Palestinian Foreign Ministry warned against dealing with the Palestinian cause as a humanitarian issue in need of “relief programmes”.

“Despite the hundreds, even thousands, of international and UN reports and reports of observers from several countries on the economic and humanitarian conditions in occupied Palestine, and despite human rights, humanitarian and economic reports by local, Israeli and independent foreign bodies at the head of which is the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), which unanimously agreed that the occupation of the State of Palestine territory is the main cause of the deterioration in the humanitarian situation in the Occupied Palestinian Territory in various areas of life, the administration of US President Donald Trump insists on reproducing the Israeli proposals and positions which call to deal with the Palestinian cause and the national, fair and legitimate rights of our people – primarily the right to self-determination – as a population issue in need of relief programmes away from the root cause of this suffering represented by the occupation,” the ministry said in a statement yesterday.

The ministry pointed out that it is working to clarify this issue to other countries and the United Nations through active diplomacy.
