The Saudi-led coalition against Yemen has announced that 161 ballistic missiles have been fired by Yemeni militias at Saudi Arabia since 2015, Anadolu reported yesterday.

This came during a press conference held by the spokesperson of the coalition Turki Al-Maliki along with Yemeni tribe leaders in Riyadh.

He stated that there is “strong cooperation” between the coalition and the Yemeni residents of Saada Province in the northwest of Yemen.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Fahd Al-Sharafi, one of the tribes’ leaders in the Yemeni province, said: “Saada is one of the most affected provinces by the Houthi militias,” stressing that its residents would continue fighting until liberation.

Earlier yesterday Saudi media reported that the Yemeni army, backed by the coalition forces, started moving towards Harad Province to liberate it from the Houthis.

Since 13 June Yemeni forces, backed by the coalition, have started a military operation to liberate Al-Hudayda Province and its strategic seaport on the Red Sea from the Houthis.

The Saudi-led coalition started its confrontations with the Houthi militias in an attempt to end their military coup in Yemen in September 2014.
