The Israeli air defences forces have intercepted two ballistic missiles launched from southern Syria towards the Israel-occupied Golan Heights yesterday morning.

Israel’s Channel 2 reported that two interceptor missiles of the David’s Sling system were fired at two surface-to-surface missiles that appeared to be heading towards Israel and downed them within seconds while they were still in Syria.

The Israeli army explained that the rockets were not aimed at Israel but were part of internal clashes in Syria.

Israeli fighter jets attacked a site in the Masyaf countryside parts of western Syria yesterday. A military source said in a statement to Syrian news agency SANA that a “military site in Masyaf in Hama countryside was targeted by an Israeli aerial aggression, causing only material damage”.

The source accused Israel of “helping terrorist organisations either through direct interference or by providing them with logistic support, weapons and intelligence.”
