Jordan army clashes with Daesh near Syria border

August 3, 2018 at 12:38 pm

Jordanian soldiers clashed with members of Daesh in the Yarmouk Basin area in Syria yesterday, killing a number of them.

In a statement the army said clashes broke out on Tuesday after Daesh militants attempted to approach the border area. Soldiers from the 10th Border Guard Battalion clashed with them, it added.

“The shelling continued until Wednesday afternoon without allowing any of them to cross the Jordanian border,” the statement explained.

The army pointed out that the Syrian regime forces stationed in the region chased the remaining militants in to Syrian territory.

The Yarmouk Basin area has witnessed violent clashes between the Khalid Bin Walid militants who are affiliated with Daesh and Syrian regime forces.
