According to the statement, the delegation is to discuss with the Russians the “conspiracies prepared to liquidate the rights of the Palestinian people, mainly the plots of the US which has been trying to impose its vision, ignoring all the historical rights of the Palestinians.”

Recent reports have shown that the US is working to reduce the number of Palestinian refugees who are registered with the UN to include only those who witnessed the 1948 Nakba and not their decedents. It is also calling on the UNRWA, the international body which deals with Palestine refugees, to alter its mandate and join forces with the UNHCR.
