The governor of Yemen’s Taiz province, Amin Ahmed Mahmoud, survived an assassination attempt in the southern city of Aden.

According to Yemeni media sources, the governor was preparing to leave the house of the Commander of the Fourth Military Region, Major General Fadl Hassan Al-Amri,when a car exploded in the area.

The sources pointed out that the governor was unhurt but the back of his car was damaged.

The governor of Taiz arrived in Aden to discuss the security situation in his province.

Last week, the Yemeni Congregation for Reform also known as Al-Islah said it holds the Interior Ministry and the Aden Director of Security fully responsibility  for the increasing assassination attempts against the party’s leaders and the authorities’ failure to stop them.
