The Turkish Ambassador to Iraq, Fatih Yildiz, yesterday denied media reports about the cancellation of Turkish entry visas for Iraqi nationals.

“I am receiving your [Iraqi public] questions regarding whether visa application for Iraqi citizens has changed,” Yildiz said on Twitter, stressing: “There has been no change in the Turkish visa system.”

“I am sharing your requests with Ankara regarding visa removal in order to facilitate your journeys to Turkey,” the Turkish official pointed out.

Several Iraqi media outlets recently reported that Ankara had cancelled the requirement for Iraqi nationals to have an entry visa to visit Turkey.
