The International Labour Organisation (ILO) is working to create suitable jobs for young Egyptians in the private sector and to create confidence between the candidates and the corporations, ILO’s chief adviser, Amal Medhat Mowafi, announced yesterday.

Speaking in an interview with Egypt’s Extra News TV channel, Mowafi added that the percentage of employed women in the Egyptian labour market “did not exceed 25 per cent in total.”

“Egyptian women face numerous obstacles that hinder them from being able to get a job,” the ILO adviser stressed, pointing to the fact that “women in Egypt usually hold the responsibility of looking after their families and kids, in addition to the inappropriate working environment for women in most of the companies in Egypt.”
