Turkey looking to search house of Saudi consul

Turkish authorities seek to search the house of the Saudi consul in Istanbul Mohammad Al-Otaibi, the New Khaleej reported yesterday.

Reports said that the Turkish authorities requested access to the Saudi consulate and the house of the consul at the same time in order to search them for clues on the whereabouts of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi who has not been seen since he entered the consulate last week.

According to the reports, the request to search the house came after information emerged that one of the cars which are suspected to have helped remove the body of missing Khashoggi from the consulate headed to the consul’s house.

Turkish authorities released footage of a black Mercedes which stopped in front of Al-Otaibi’s house at 3:09pm on the day of Khashoggi’s disappearance.
