Tunisia hands 600 acres of land to unemployed youths

Tunisian Minister of State Property and Real Estate Affairs, Mabrouk Korshid, handed over 242 hectares (598 acres) of state-owned land to unemployed Tunisian youths, Tunisian news website Arrakmia.com reported on Friday.

During a visit to Al-Kaf Governorate, near the Tunisian-Algerian border, the minister handed over the land to the mayor of the governorate. The land included 108 hectares for Tunisians who hold university degrees and 134 hectares for those who do not have degrees.

According to Arrakmia.com, the land is to be distributed in the four neighbourhoods of Al-Turif, Al-Dahamani, Al-Qusour and Al-Sars.

The direction to distribute the land was signed by the Minister of State Property and Real Estate Affairs, as well as the Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Sea Fishing.
