Gaza: 14,566 new births during third quarter

According to statistics released, Wednesday, by the General Administration of Civil Status at the Ministry of Interior in the Gaza Strip, the Strip has been witnessing 14,566 new births, with an average of 158 births per day, during the third quarter of this year.

The Civil Status Offices in the Directorate of Internal Affairs in Gaza said in a statement that during the period extending from 1 July to 30 September, there were 5,250 new births; meanwhile, the two Offices of Internal Affairs of Khan Yunis have registered 2,940 new births.

The Offices of Internal Affairs of the North have registered 2,550 births during the third quarter. The Civil Status Offices of Internal Affairs of the Centre have registered 1,973 new births, while the Civil Status Offices of the Directorate of Internal Affairs of Rafah have registered 1,853 new births.

The Civil Status stated that its offices in the Gaza Strip registered 878 deaths during the third quarter of this year.
