A Russian lawmaker has called for a kiosk to be opened in parliament to serve shawarma with a chief from Syria or the Caucasus manning it.

“It is difficult to leave the workplace, especially in winter. You have to put a good meat skewer and the chefs must be from Syria or the Caucasus. I’m sure no one will go to the restaurants, and all MPs will wait in line for a kebab, I say to you!”  Vitaly Milonov said during a parliamentary session.

Melonov recommended one shawarma should be sold at 300 rubles ($4.6). “Our salaries allow it. The price can range from 250-300 rubles [$3.8-$4.6],” he said.

The lawmaker remarked on violations of hygiene standards at restaurants that sell shawarma in Moscow, saying it was necessary to control the situation as well as the quality of food served and to close suspicious places.
