Middle East Development Forum kicks off in Beijing

The Middle East Regional Development Forum was launched at the Beijing University on Sunday in the presence of experts, researchers and academics from China, the Middle East and the United States.

The forum aims to discuss regional issues as well as cooperation within the framework of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.

Ambassador for China-Arab States Cooperation Forum (CASCF) Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Li Chengwen said China considers the Arab countries as natural partners and hopes to enhance cooperation with the Middle East countries through implementing the Belt and Road Initiative.

The two-day forum will discuss some issues including the reconstruction of Iraq and Syria, the refugees’ issue, energy, finance and investments in the Middle East.
