Secretary-General of the PLO Executive Committee Saeb Erekat said the Islamic Resistance movement Hamas is a Palestinian movement that no one can exclude.

“We disagree with them. But, they must accept no internal fighting and the diversity of power,” he said.

The Palestinian chief negotiator said the Palestinian-Israeli conflict is not religious, adding: “I am proud that I am a Muslim, there are also Arab Christians. Judaism is not and will never be a threat.”

“The United States’ recognition of Israel’s sovereignty over East and West Jerusalem violates international law, violates the prohibition of illegal seizure of territory by force, and violates the Palestinian people right to self-determination,” he said, adding that “President Trump had promised not to take any decision with regards to Jerusalem but what happened indicates that Washington is not qualified to proceed in the peace process.”
