Saudi pays $60m to the PA treasury

Saudi Arabia announced yesterday that it was transferring $60 million to the account of the Palestinian Ministry of Finance in the occupied West Bank, Saudi news agency SPA reported.

The Kingdom said the money, which was transferred from the Saudi Development Fund, is part of its contribution to the monthly support for the budget of the Palestinian Authority for August, September and October, in addition to the $37 million donation pledged by the Kingdom.

Saudi Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt, who serves, also, as the Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the League of Arab States Osama bin Ahmed Nuqali, said during a press statement here today, that the Kingdom will continue to support the Palestinian cause, at various political, economic and humanitarian levels, SPA reported.

On Friday, Qatar paid $15 million to impoverished Palestinian civil servants in the Gaza Strip after the Palestinian Authority halved their salaries last year.
