Five members of Tunisia’s Nidaa Tounes party have been sacked by their group, the head of the bloc announced yesterday.
No reasons were given for the dismissals however the move reduces the number of the bloc’s representatives from 51 to 46.
The dismissal came a day after parliament voted on Monday with an absolute majority to back the new members of Yousef Chahed’s government, who are involved in the recent ministerial reshuffle.
Last week, Chahed had announced a wide ministerial reshuffle that included 13 ministerial portfolios and five assistant ministers, in a move that observers say has created new political balances in the country. The new government formation included 29 ministers and ten deputies.
