The son of Brazilian President-elect Jair Bolsonaro met this week with US presidential advisor Jared Kushner to discuss his country’s intention to move its embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to the occupied city of Jerusalem.

Eduardo Bolsonaro reportedly told Kushner that the issue is “not a question of whether we will do it, but when we will do it”.

Eduardo was also quoted as saying during his meeting with Kushner that the embassy’s new location in Jerusalem has not yet been decided.

The meeting was the first time when Brazilian and American officials discussed moving the embassy. It was first reported in the Brazilian media before it was confirmed by the US administration.

Bolsonaro announced last month, straight after winning the election, his intention to move his country’s embassy to Jerusalem.
