One Israeli soldier was seriously wounded on Monday and another was slightly injured when their military Caterpillar D9 bulldozer overturned during exercises on the occupied Golan Heights, the Times of Israel has reported. The two soldiers were evacuated by helicopter to Rambam Medical Centre in Haifa for treatment.

The Israel Defence Forces said that the “circumstances of the incident will be investigated.” According to Quds Press, in September last year, an Israeli soldier was killed and four others were wounded after shells exploded during similar exercises in the Golan Heights.

The Israeli occupation army has increased the number of exercises in the occupation zone following reports that there are Iranians in the area.

The Times of Israel also reported that one Israeli soldier was killed and three others were injured in April this year when fire broke out inside a tank. The driver tried to prevent the tank from tipping over into a riverbed on the Egyptian border.
