A recent visit by an anti-government Egyptian journalist to occupied Palestine have drawn strong criticism across social media platforms by a number of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign activists, Al-Araby21 reported yesterday.

The critics described the visit as an “attempt within the framework of the Arab normalisation with Israel.”

On Saturday, Abuo Bakr Khallaf published his picture inside Al-Aqsa Mosque. BDS activists later accused him of “supporting normalisation with Israel.”

The Egyptian Media Professional Abroad (EMPA) also slammed Khallaf’s move, stressing that it “rejects all forms of normalisation with the Israeli occupation.” It referred Khallaf to an official investigation on his visit as a member of the association.
