Israeli occupation forces removed a Palestinian flag from a mosque in the occupied East Jerusalem neighbourhood of Issawiya.
Forces tried to raid the mosque, member of a local follow-up committee, Muhammad Abu Al-Hummos, said. However when they were unable to enter they placed a ladder on the outside wall and took down a Palestinian flag and a picture of Palestinian prisoner Fares Baroud who died in Israeli jails on Wednesday.
Baroud died of medical negligence. Detained in 1991 and sentenced to life in prison, in addition to 35 years for killing an Israeli settler, he suffered from a hernia, liver disease and asthma while in prison.
