Turkey’s defense minister, US counterpart discuss Syria

Turkey’s National Defense Minister Hulusi Akar met acting US Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan in Brussels on Wednesday, Anadolu Agency reports.

During the meeting, recent developments in Syria were discussed, according to official sources.

Akar is at NATO headquarters in Brussels for a two-day annual meeting of NATO defense ministers.

Akar also met with French Defense Minister Florence Parly and North Macedonian Defense Minister Radmila Shekerinsa as well as Gen. Curtis M. Scaparrotti, the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR).
