February 5, 2020 at 2:11 pm

Saudi Arabia will not fine citizens of Ethiopia, Somalia, Eritrea, Nigeria and Chad if they have overstayed their visas as long as they pledge to leave the country forever, Al-Mesryoon reported yesterday.

Referencing Saudi newspaper, Okaz, the site reported a source from the Ethiopian consulate in Jeddah confirmed the reports.

Meanwhile, the newspaper reported that the plan would be valid for a renewal period of three months.

Under the plan, fines and fees would be applicable for citizens who later choose to return to the kingdom.

It is worth noting that more than 12 million foreigners live in Saudi Arabia.
