The Lebanese Foreign Ministry filed a complaint on Friday to the United Nations (UN) Security Council against repeated Israeli violations to Lebanon’s sovereignty and airspace, Quds Press reported.

Lebanese foreign minister, Nacif Hitti, issued the complaint to the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jan Kubitsch, during the latter’s visit to Beirut.

Both officials discussed the latest developments in the south of the country, as well as Lebanon’s commitment to the UN Resolution 1701.

UN Resolution 1701, adopted in 2006, calls on Israel to stop its aggression on Lebanon, in addition to respecting Beirut’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Israeli war planes usually carry out airstrikes in Syria, using Lebanese airspace. Israel also repeatedly violates Lebanese sovereignty on the ground and in the sea.
