Israeli forces executed a young Palestinian man on Friday near Silwad city, east of Ramallah, and another Palestinian was martyred in Ya’bad city in Jenin, as clashes between the Palestinians and the occupation in the West Bank intensified.

More than 20 Palestinians were injured with live ammunition fired by Israeli forces trying to repress protests in Qalqilya, Hebron, Nablus, Jenin and Tulkarm. Thus, the number of injuries with rubber bullets and tear gas increased to more than 200, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS).

The Israeli occupation said that its forces shot a Palestinian near Ofra settlement, in the centre of the West Bank, after allegedly attempting to carry out an attack near the area.

The Israeli army announced in a statement: “We received news about an attempt to attack Ofra,” adding, “there were no casualties among our forces.”

The Israeli army did not state how serious the Palestinian’s injury was nor his identity. However, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced later that the young man was martyred due to serious wounds.

Local sources reported that the young man was seriously wounded when the occupation soldiers opened fire at his vehicle. After announcing the young man’s death, clashes broke out in Silwad between the locals and the occupation soldiers, who fired tear gas canisters.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health also announced the death of a Palestinian man, who remains unidentified to date, after he was shot by the Israeli army during clashes that erupted in the town of Ya’bad (Jenin), indicating that the live bullets were fired at the martyr’s thigh.

A young man was wounded by Israeli forces’ bullets after the residents responded to an attack carried out by settlers from the Yitzhar settlement in the town of Urif, south of Nablus, amid clashes with occupation soldiers.

The occupation fired live ammunition and tear gas canisters, which led to injuring a young man who received bullets to the abdomen, while another Palestinian was hit with a stone in the head.

After Friday prayers, protests started in the West Bank denouncing Israeli practices in the city of Jerusalem and the crimes in the Gaza Strip, which the occupation forces tried to disperse using live and metal bullets and tear gas bombs.

In the northern West Bank, confrontations occurred mainly in the villages of Bazaria, Hawara, Beit Dajan, Osrin, and Burin in the Nablus governorate. In addition, other clashes erupted at the western entrance to Tulkarm and the villages of Qaffin and Kafr Zita, as well as in Kafr Qaddum, east of Qalqilya, and the towns of Qarawat Bani Hassan, Deir Istiya, and the entrance to the city of Salfit.

As for the centnal West Bank, clashes erupted in a number of villages in Ramallah, mainly in Bil’in, Budrus, Nabi Saleh and Beit Sira, in addition to the city’s northern entrance.

South of the occupied West Bank, confrontations took place in Arroub refugee camp, near Abu Al-Reesh checkpoint in central Hebron, as well as at the northern entrance to Bethlehem. On the other hand, confrontations erupted at the southern entrance to the city of Jericho.

Clashes between protesters and the occupation army also broke out at Jalameh checkpoint, northeast of Jenin, after the Palestinian factions called on the Palestinians to join marches at points in different locations in the West Bank.

Six Palestinians were killed while hundreds were injured since last Monday, in separate confrontations with the Israeli occupation forces.

At dawn on Friday, sporadic clashes broke out in the West Bank, following spontaneous marches in support of the Gaza Strip, during which the Israeli army used live and metal bullets and tear gas canisters.
