The Palestinian Health Ministry yesterday released surveillance footage which shows the moment Israeli warplanes targeted a clinic in Gaza last week.

The CCTV footage dated 17 May shows people running in the corridors of Al-Remal Clinic, Gaza’s main COVID-19 laboratory, as an Israeli air strike hits neighbouring buildings.

Al-Remal Clinic was badly damaged after several buildings surrounding the compound were completely destroyed by the air strikes, Yousef Abu Al-Reesh, health ministry director-general in Gaza, told reporters at the time.

Palestinian doctor Majid Salha was injured in the strike and remains in intensive care.

At least 253 Palestinians, including 66 children and 39 women, were killed during Israel’s 11-day bombardment of the besieged enclave. More than 1,900 others were injured, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health.
