Qatar-Russia trade volume up 47% in 2 years

The volume of trade exchange between Qatar and Russia has increased by 47 per cent over the past two years, to reach $296 million in 2020, compared to $201.16 million in 2019, Al Jazeera reports.

The news site said the Minister of Commerce in Qatar, Ali Bin Ahmed Al Kuwari,  announced the increased during the inauguration of the Qatari-Russian Business Dialogue, which was organised on the occasion of Qatar’s participation as Guest Country in the 24th edition of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2021.

The Minister highlighted that Qatar’s participation in SPIEF demonstrated the strength and durability of the relations between Qatar and Russia.

According to the Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA), Qatar’s global trade surplus rose to 194.1 per cent in April.
