An Israeli District Court in Jerusalem has fined the Palestinian Authority (PA) one million shekels ($306,000) in case of the kidnapping of two Jewish women in the 1980s, local media reported yesterday.

According to Al-Watan Voice, Israel’s Channel 12 reported that the Israeli District Court in Jerusalem ruled that the PA pay the fine to the women’s heirs, as they have now passed away.

The two women were kidnapped, the court said, by the PLO’s Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) from Egypt’s Port Said in 1985. They were then taken to the Port of Tartous in Syria.
