History will mark the arrival of the first Bahraini ambassador to Israel “as a black spot in the history of Bahrain’s rulers”, the Islamic Jihad movement said yesterday.

The movement’s media spokesman, Tariq Salmi, said in a statement: “Normalisation will not bring good returns for Bahrain, and this country will not achieve any benefit from the shameful alliance of its rulers with the Zionist enemy.”

“We are certain that the Bahraini people will never accept the policies of rushing towards normalisation, nor that their country will turn into a hotbed for the Zionists. The Bahraini people are authentic people who do not accept wrongdoing, and the normalisation approach does not express the Bahraini people who are committed to supporting Palestine and its people,” he added.

Bahrain’s Ambassador to Israel, Khaled Yousef Al-Jalahmah, arrived in Tel Aviv to assume duties yesterday.

“The opportunity to fulfil His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision of peaceful coexistence with all nations is a privilege that I will hold in high regard,” Al-Jalahmah said.
