The decision of the Moroccan authorities to suspend flights to Germany, the UK and the Netherlands due to the increased threat of the coronavirus, has left tourists stranded in the North African country.

One carrier has agreed to run a direct flight to the UK to allow stranded Brits to return home on Friday.

A statement from the British Embassy in Rabat said that travellers should contact their airline or travel company to inquire about their return. While alternative routes, through France and Spain, are operating normally.

Morocco banned flights to and from the three countries on 20 October over Covid-19 concerns.
