Israeli occupation forces attacked, on Wednesday, Palestinian citizens in the Jerusalem neighbourhood of Sheikh Jarrah, following their attempt to stop Israeli settlers march in the area, Quds Press reported.
According to local sources from Jerusalem, Quds Press said: “The Israeli occupation forces imposed a military cordon on Sheikh Jarrah, which it threatened to be evacuated, closed its entrances and prevented supporters and journalists from entering into it.”
The sources said that the Israeli occupation intensified its forces inside and around the neighbourhood and “attempted to push the activists, who arrived to stand in solidarity with Sheikh Jarrah residents, out of the neighbourhood.”
Early today, a group of Israeli Jewish settlers organised a march and broke into Sheikh Jarrah, screaming: “Death to Arabs.”

Extremist settler groups called for the organisation of this march under the pretext of supporting the Israeli Jewish settlers in the area.
Israeli media said that the settlers organised this march in response to an attack by a 14-year-old Palestinian girl’s alleged stabbing attack of a Jewish settler, who sustained wounds on Tuesday.
The Times of Israel reported that Israeli occupation forces were filmed seeking to disperse Palestinians, in some cases violently, pointing out that a police officer appeared in a video bashing a Palestinian demonstrator’s head back into a metal pole.
