The Palestinian Red Crescent (PRC) said on Monday that its paramedics have treated 28 Palestinians wounded by Israeli occupation forces in two separate villages in the occupied West Bank, Anadolu has reported.

“Our paramedics treated 20 Palestinians in the village of Burqa, to the west of Nablus,” said the PRC. “Another eight were treated for wounds after Israeli aggression in the village of Beita, to the south of the city.”

According to anti-settlement activist Ghassan Daglass, the Israeli occupation forces stormed into Burqa and occupied the roof of one of the Palestinian homes. “Unarmed youths attempted to push the Israeli occupation forces out of the village and clashes then erupted.”

In Beita, the Israeli forces were in the area in support of illegal Jewish settlers who attacked the village.

Attacks by settlers against the Palestinians and their property in the occupied territories have increased sharply in recent years. Such attacks usually take place with the support and protection of the Israeli security forces. Settlers are rarely, if ever, arrested and prosecuted for their crimes.

Israeli rights group Peace Now said that there are around 666,000 Israeli Jewish settlers living in 145 settlements licensed by the Israeli government, but illegal under international law, and 140 settlement outposts, which are even illegal under Israeli law., spread across the occupied West Bank.
