Delegations of the leaders of Hadhramaut governorate in Yemen began critical talks in Riyadh on Wednesday in an effort to determine and agree a unified position on the region. Political, tribal, community, military and security leaders are taking part at the invitation of the government of Saudi Arabia.
The position of the governorate is important, especially in relation to the actions of the Southern Transitional Council. Participants in the meeting are divided into three axes: politics; security and military; and social and economic.
According to the media office of the Governor of Hadhramaut, Mabkhoot Bin Mubarak Bin Madhi, the meetings are being held for the sake of the governorate. He expressed his hope that a complete consensus would be reached in the best interest of Hadhramaut. “All of the axes are complementary to each other,” he said. “Everyone needs to forget the differences and unify the ranks.”
Bin Madhi added that it is not intended to exclude anyone. “We have included all of the components of our society, and the Kingdom has agreed to the attendance of all.”
