The Palestine Red Crescent Society evacuated five journalists who were trapped by Israeli occupation forces inside a house in the Jenin Refugee Camp in the northern West Bank while covering the military operation that Israel launched yesterday, Anadolu Agency reported.

Press sources told Anadolu that an ambulance from the Palestinian Red Crescent evacuated five journalists yesterday afternoon. They were identified as two from the Qatar-based Al-Araby TV, two Anadolu Agency photographers and a freelance journalist.

Al-Araby TV said Israeli occupation forces targeted their team’s camera and transmitter with live ammunition during their coverage of the ongoing aggression on the Jenin camp, which resulted in the burning of the transmitter. Al-Araby said that their correspondent Ameed Shehadeh was reporting from inside Jenin when Israeli occupation forces shot live ammunition at the team’s camera and equipment.

The Beirut-based Journalist Support Committee (JSC) condemned the targeting of press crews during the Israeli aggression Jenin. JSC added that by targeting press crews, Israel aims to hide its crimes from the international community and silence the Palestinian narrative.
