French football star and member of Saudi’s Al-Ittihad Club, Karim Benzema, is currently in Jeddah with his family, refuting previous reports that he had returned to France after terminating his contract. Saudi media has reported.
Local media said Benzema published an Instagram story showing him training in a gym and wearing an Al-Ittihad shirt.
Since joining Al-Ittihad, Benzema has participated in six matches in the Saudi Pro League, during which he scored three goals and provided two assists.
Benzema did not play during Al-Ittihad matches against Al-Fateh and Al-Fayha in the seventh and eighth rounds of the Saudi Pro League, as well as the match against Uzbekistan’s Ojimak team, due to an injury.
The news comes as reports surface that a foreign football player has refused to continue to play in Saudi Arabia, leaving the kingdom in the middle of the Saudi football season.
According to a local Saudi news site, the identity of the player and the club which he plays remain unknown.
