The Commander-in-Chief of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Sunday that the “time” of Israel’s arrogance is over.

“Today, Israel can no longer be as reckless as before,” said Major General Hossein Salami. “The time of [Israeli] occupation and aggression has ended, and the Palestinians have brought terror into the Zionists’ hearts. They [Palestinians] are now pursuing and imprisoning them [Israelis], and they are defending their rights with pride.” He added that the new Israel is “humiliated and weak” while even the Americans can no longer offer anything to save it.

Earlier, Iran’s Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, confirmed that Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, led by the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) against Israeli targets earlier this week, has turned Israel’s collapse from a “dream into reality”. This has proved that desperate efforts, like the normalisation process, will not prevent the “spider’s web” from collapsing.

“In this surprising operation, the Palestinian fighters demonstrated wonderful resistance action,” said Bagheri. “The oppressed Palestinian people, after several decades of oppression, and now with the support of a motivated young generation and in light of confidence in the Divine promise, have gained great power that has astonished analysts and military strategists around the world.”

Since Hamas started its operation on Saturday, Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi has had two phone conversations with the head of the Hamas political bureau, Ismail Haniyeh, and the Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad movement, Ziad al-Nakhalah.

As of Monday morning, Israel had announced the death of 700 Israelis with more than 2,100 wounded in Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. In retaliation, the Israeli army launched Operation Iron Swords against Palestinian civilians in Gaza, killing 500 people, including civilians and children, and injuring at least 2,300 others, according to the Palestinian health ministry.
