Jordanian King Abdullah II and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi yesterday warned that the failure to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip “will plunge the region into a catastrophe”.
The two leaders affirmed their countries’ “unified position rejecting the policy of collective punishment through the siege, starvation or displacement,” of Palestinians in Gaza.
This came during extensive bilateral discussions held in Cairo.
The two leaders also stressed that “any attempt at forced displacement [of Palestinians] to Jordan or Egypt is rejected”, reiterating “the necessity of immediately stopping the war on Gaza, protecting civilians, lifting the siege, and delivering humanitarian aid to the people there.”
