Israel uses Jewish criminals to assault Palestinian prisoners

Israeli Prison Service officers attacked Palestinian political prisoners in Megiddo Prison on Sunday, with the participation of imprisoned Jewish criminals, Israeli public broadcaster Kan has reported.

The Jewish criminals apparently helped the prison guards during a raid that included incursions into the cells of Palestinian prisoners, after a group of underage prisoners had tried to lower the Israeli flag.

“A number of detained Jerusalemite minors attempted to lower the Israeli flag from one of the prison wings,” it was reported. That is when the assault took place, during which prisoners’ belongings were confiscated, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, cigarettes and electrical appliances, leaving them with nothing but the clothes they were wearing and only one pair of shoes.

The radio quoted an official in Megiddo Prison as saying that the prisoners’ belongings were loaded onto trucks belonging to the prison service to be transported to another location or to be disposed of.

After the attack on the Palestinian prisoners, the prison administration organised a “Jewish prayer” with the participation of Jewish jailers and criminals in the prisoners’ sections. This was the first time that such a prayer had been held officially within the prison walls.

Israeli Radio reported that the prison administration “thanked” the Jewish prisoners after raiding the Palestinian prisoners’ quarters and assaulting them.
